A defined type scale has been provided for digital and web applications, where screen-based environments allow for consistent sizing and predictable behaviour across devices. In print, however, final type sizes are inherently dependent on format, layout, viewing distance and production context, such as page size, column width, margins and print method.
For this reason, fixed point sizes for print typography are not prescribed. Instead, Switzer should be applied proportionally and with consideration for hierarchy, readability and balance within each individual layout.
Designers should use professional judgement to determine appropriate sizing, ensuring clear differentiation between headings, subheadings and body text, and maintaining a consistent typographic rhythm across the document.
System font
When working in common office applications such as Word, Powerpoint, Excel, and Email, please use our designated system font, Arial.
Why do we use a system font?
The aforementioned applications are frequently shared with diverse parties or accessed on various devices where we lack control over the installed fonts. Consequently, we employ a universally accessible system font to ensure optimal viewing for all recipients, irrespective of the device used.
